Shipping is done with DHL in the Netherlands, PostNL abroad (in the US they transfer to USPS. Please keep in mind that delays are happening.). International shipments are cleared at customs as “Silicone Sculpture”.

The unicorn is a legendary creature that has been described since ancient times as a beast with a single large, pointed, spiral-shaped horn protruding from its forehead. In European literature and art, the unicorn has been depicted for the past thousand years as a white horse-like or goat-like animal with a long straight horn with spiral grooves, long, straight silvery white hair, cloven hooves and sometimes a goat’s beard. In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it was generally described as an extremely wild forest animal, a symbol of purity and grace, which could only be captured by a virgin. In encyclopedias, his horn was described as having the power to make poisoned water drinkable and to cure disease. The horn itself and the substance it was made of was called alicorn, and it was believed that the horn holds magical and medicinal properties. In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the narwhal’s tusk was sometimes sold as a unicorn horn. An unicorn is also an animal mentioned in the Bible that is usually considered an aurochs, a one-horned rhinoceros, or an antelope. Unicorns were well established in medieval lore.

Some scholars believe that a bovine unicorn is depicted in seals of the Bronze Age Indus Valley civilization, but the interpretation remains controversial. An equine form of the unicorn was mentioned by the ancient Greeks in accounts of natural history by several writers, including Ctesias, Strabo, Pliny the Younger, Aelian, and Cosmas Indicopleustes. The Bible also describes an animal, the re’em, which in some translations is rendered as a unicorn. The unicorn continues to occupy a place in popular culture. It is often used as a symbol of fantasy or rarity, something that is highly desirable but difficult to find or obtain.
